May 1st, the first graders got to go on a field trip to the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island. This field trip was about the Pawnee Indians. The students had a great time learning about the Pawnee Indians. They got to sit in a teepee, build a 'weepee' (mini teepee), go into an earth lodge among many other fun things. Here are the pictures from that day.
We started a kaleidoscope project, but ran out of time to finish it. Here are a couple websites with instruction in case you want to finish it at home:
http://www.discountqueens.com/pringles-kaleidoscopes/ http://www.handmadecharlotte.com/make-cardboard-kaleidoscope/ There was another site that said that tinfoil would work as well. |
